Working trip to Khuroson district

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Khuroson district today.
He was familiarized with the implementation of the Development Program of Gardening and Wine Growing for 2016 – 2020, in particular the development of intensive orchards, use of household lands, creation of new jobs, as well as increasing agricultural and export-oriented products.
The trip began in the 360 hectare of intensive Peshvoi Millat garden established in 2016. The garden which employs 1,000 local residents, specializes in the best varieties of exported-oriented apples.
President Rahmon also took part in the harvesting campaign of apples and held a meeting with farmers.
He also visited the Asadullo Farm which specializes in growing 32 varieties of apples. The farm has 931 hectares of land. Roars are grown in 25 hectares, apricots in 103 hectares, grapes in 202 hectares, almonds in 98 hectares, and 220 hectares are devoted to quince.
President Rahmon instructed the management of Asadullo Farm to establish an export-oriented prune orchard. The harvested fruits are exported mainly to Russia.
The head of state praised the gardeners for their efficient use of land and for harvesting and providing the domestic market with healthy fruits and vegetables.
Khuroson district is one of the largest agrarian regions of Khatlon region and as of today it houses 3,300 hectares of gardens, of which 800 hectares are made up of restored garden.
