Working visit to Kuhistoni Mastchoh district

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district of Sughd Province on a working visit in order to get acquainted with the socio-economic development of the region and to attend various opening ceremonies.
In the administrative center of Mastchoh district – the newly established town Mehron, President Emomali Rahmon attended the inauguration ceremony of the Central District Hospital with surgical and therapeutic departments, as well as the maternity ward and a children’s section.
President Emomali Rahmon voiced his satisfaction with the quality of construction while talking with the healthcare workers, and advised them to conscientiously serve the population, improve the level of medical care and present a friendly attitude towards patients.
This was followed by an opening ceremony for the new department of internal affairs office, which in turn was followed by the opening ceremony of a new branch of the state savings bank Amonatbonk in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district.
The opening ceremony for the new building of the district court and the new building of the State Committee for National Security office in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district were also attended by President Emomali Rahmon.
Next in the scheduled list of ceremonies was for the opening of the Flag and the State Symbol Square.
Continuing his working trip to Mastchoh district the head of state put into operation the new two-story building of the Independent State Fire Department and Emergency Service Department of the Kuhistoni Mastchoh.
During the presentation of the Guzn coal mine Kudrat-2010, President Emomali Rahmon was informed that the company which was established in 2017, currently employs 35 local residents.
The company’s production capacity is 10,000 tons of coal, with the plans to increase it to 100,000 tons with the introduction of modern technologies.
According to geological exploration, the total coal reserves at the Guzn deposit is 27 million tons.
The head of state also visited the intensive apple growing garden which was established by the government with the participation of development partners using Italian-Spanish methods.
Currently, 4,700 fruit trees are grown in the garden.
After visiting the garden in this remote mountainous region, President Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the exhibition of agricultural products of the hardworking farmers of Kuhistoni Mastchoh district.
In the administrative center of Kuhistoni Mastchoh, President Emomali Rahmon also atteded the opening ceremony of the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan office.
Following the opening ceremonies of a number of various facilities in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, President Rahmon held a meeting with the local residents and thanked them for the warm welcome accorded to him and expressed his gratitude for their support of government policies. He congratulated all the attendees and residents of the district with the upcoming nationwide holiday –the 28th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence.
He noted that the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district is the birthplace of Tajikistan’s independence and for the past 28 years the birthplace of our ancestors saw a rebirth and turned into one of the most important agricultural areas of the country. Due to government effort, in the last four years the district has added a number of social facilities such as educational institutions, health care centers, first-aid posts, shopping centers, banks, small hydro power stations and other necessary infrastructures.
In preparation for the 30th anniversary of independence, the government has planned to include the building of 248 facilities, 93 of which have already been built.
According to the head of state, during the period of independence the government has allocated about 170 million somoni toward Kuhistoni Mastchoh’s development, including 81 million somoni in financial assistance and 35 million somoni from centralized funds of ministries and agencies. As part of the implementation of the socio-economic development program of Kuhistoni Mastchoh district through 2020, 52 projects totaling more than 102 million somoni have been implemented in the last three and a half years.
While visiting the Rogh farm in which 124.2 hectares produce 250 to 300 centners of crops, President Emomali Rahmon instructed the responsible persons of the region to effectively use every inch of land and increase the area of irrigated land every year.
Closing his trip, President Rahmon expressed confidence that the hardworking people of the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district will put much effort toward preparing for the worthy celebration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan.
